Calling all young artists ages 9 to 13: Join quilt artist Deb Allard for a one-week fabric collage quilting camp. Collage is a method of using collections of various materials to create a piece of artwork.
Join us as we transform scraps of fabrics into interesting art quilts that will grace a room in your home with its unique color, design, and your imagination.
Deb has been a teacher and quilter for many years and loves sharing fabric collage with students of all ages.
In this class, you will create a quilted wall hanging as you learn fabric collage techniques. You will use a simple spiral structure for your design and learn about using color and value (darks and lights) while using the texture to inspire your imagination as you create a masterpiece. This class is about having fun with fabric while learning from each other.
Bring LOTS of fabric scraps from your own collection or mom’s, or grannie’s, auntie’s, neighbors, and friends. If you have old cotton clothes ready to be recycled, feel free to cut 6” x 6” pieces from anything that has interesting designs in the fabric. You will also need the supplies listed below.
