Sew the Tamarack Jacket with Carol
November 12 @ 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Saturday, November 12 from 12:30 to 4:30 pm | $45 for session | Registration required | Limit of five students
Quilted jackets are all the rage. The Tamarack Jacket is a warm and stylish quilted coat perfect for spring and fall layering! You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm.
There will be homework needed to be done in advance of the class. For the class your fabric must be pre-quilted. We will not be quilting in class. Knit One Quilt Too has a wonderful selection of quilted fabric for sale.
Techniques involved include straight seams, inserting a welt pocket, and applying bias binding.
Intermediate. You should know your way around your sewing machine and have sewn a few garments.
Instructor will supply:
Tracing paper for pattern
-Tamarack Jacket pattern
-Pencil for tracing pattern
-Pre-quilted fabric. We will not be quilting the fabric in class.
-Dress weights. Instructor will have some but not enough for all students.
-Thread to match project
-Sewing machine. You can also rent one from the Shop.
-Disappearing ink pen
-General sewing supplies
*We may not be able to finish the entire jacket in one class but you will leave with the skills, steps, and knowledge of how to complete your one-of-a-kind Tamarack.
