Naturally dyed Tunic Class with Lindsay and Erica (2 sessions)
August 24, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
One event on August 26, 2018 at 10:00 am
Friday, August 24, 2:00pm–6:00pm & Sunday, August 26, 10:00am–1:00pm | $125 (2 sessions) | Registration required
In this class, you will explore natural dyeing techniques using real flowers and bark while sewing an easy-to-wear, truly one-of-a-kind garment that looks great on everybody.
The first class you will sew the tunic using a pattern custom-designed by co-instructor Erica Smith. The tunic is of simple construction and includes a curved high-low hem and boxed pleat.
On Sunday, you will dye your newly sewn tunic using all-natural dyes and variety of techniques that will allow you to create a speckled or patterned design—or a combo of the two—as well as more solid color shifts. By natural, we mean mother-earth-natural: actual flowers and bark, which produce the most amazing colors (Mother earth would agree!). You’ll be amazed to see what colors can come out of natural materials.
Call the shop to register. You will need to purchase and launder the fabric before the first class. The pattern and dyeing materials are included with the class fee. And not to worry, this dye technique makes a minimal mess so you’ll be fine in your street clothes 🙂
