Have you always wanted to learn to quilt, but don’t know where to start? Quilting expert Kathy Graves will lead you through each step from start to finish so you’ll gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence you need.
You will learn about fabric selection, rotary cutting, accurately sewing ¼” seams, making blocks, assembling quilts, options for quilting top to back, and how to attach the binding.
There is a wide variety of patterns at the shop for you to choose from to get you started. For the class, we will focus on a project using 5” squares that you can size anywhere from a placemat to a baby quilt.
The class fee for 4 classes is $140 payable prior to class plus $5 shop fee per class ($160 total). Preregistration and payment for class are required.
– Pattern & fabric for your project
– Sewing machine in good working order and the manual if you have it
– Basic sewing supplies (e.g., pins, sewing needle, seam ripper, thread)
– Rotary cutter with a new blade
– Rulers to cut fabric
– Cutting mat
The friendly folks at the shop can help you select a great pattern and fabric to start with along with the other supplies you’ll need, or you can pick them out on the first day of class.
