Friday night fun: Steeked mug cozy
January 18 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
January 18, 6:00 to 9:00 pm | $35 plus supplies | Registration required
Ready to expand your knitting skills and learn the skill of steeking? Grab your friends or come solo to this Friday Night Fun class!
Steeking is a technique where a knitted piece is actually cut, in order to be able to knit a flat piece in the round, for example, a stranded colorwork cardigan. Steeking is a really useful knitting skill, but it intimidates a lot of knitters, because, well, putting scissors to your knitting can be downright scary!
In this class, we will take the fear out of steeking by practicing on a small-scale project. These cute cozies knit up fast so we dive in to learn the technique of steeking. They are also really fun to decorate, will look great on your to-go coffee, and make great gifts! Light refreshments included.
Materials: 1 skein Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, Size 10 knitting needles for knitting in the round (double pointed or long circular for magic loop), 1 decorative button
