Fabric Collage for Beginners
August 27 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
One event on August 27, 2022 at 1:00 pm
Saturdays, August 13 and 27, 1:00 to 4:00 pm | $40 per session
This two-day workshop will be led by Deb Allard, from Somerset, MA. who studied with Susan Carlson over ten years. Deb followed Susan’s work from the moment she picked up her first book, Free Style Quilts in 2000. Susan’s techniques are simple to learn and now Deb designs her own fabric collage quilts using my photographs and drawings.
This two-day workshop will lead you through the simple techniques of fabric collage while applying your use of color, texture, value, and design elements. You will leave the workshop having paved a path towards completion of your art quilt.
You can purchase an autographed copy of Susan Carlson’s book at the shop. Deb will have enlarged copies of two patterns, Sun and Moon, from Susan’s book of which you will sketch onto muslin. Or you can choose to make a simple spiral pattern.
