Fabric Collage Art with Deb Allard

January 8, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Fabric Collage

January 8 and 22, 1:00 to 4:00 pm | $35 per session | Min. 3 participants

This two-day workshop, led by expert quilter Deb Allard, will lead you through the simple techniques of fabric collage while applying use of color, texture, value, and design elements. You will leave the workshop having paved a strong path towards completion of your art quilt. Free motion quilting will also be discussed and demonstrated.

You can purchase an autographed copy of Susan Carlson’s book at Knit One Quilt Too to view the patterns with which you might like to play. Deb will also be available by email to support you while working on your project at home and will have enlarged copies of each pattern from Susan’s book of which you will sketch onto muslin.

Deb Allard studied with Susan Carlson while living in New Hampshire over ten years. In fact, Deb followed her work from the moment she picked up her first book, Free Style Quilts in 2000. Susan’s techniques are quite simple to learn and now Deb designs her own fabric collage quilts using photographs and drawings.

Deb loves quilting and sewing functional art of all kinds but fabric collage is her number one delight as it feels so freeing—no quarter inch seams, no 5/8″ in seams, no ripping out, no zippers, no triangle corners that must be nestled perfectly on each seam.
