Baltimore Album Quilt with Sandy Reynolds
January 4 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
An event every month that begins at 1:30 pm on day First of the month, repeating until May 30, 2020
First Saturday of the month, 1:30–4:30 pm | All levels | $30 per class paid in 3-month increments ($90 every 3 months)
This is a class for beginners and more experienced appliqué students learning the “needle turn” method of appliqué. We will begin our journey with a simple pattern, in the Baltimore style which will produce a finished block measuring 12.5″ X 12.5″.
This will be the first block of your “Baltimore Album” appliqué journey – it really can be done, one block at a time! This class will cover the basic appliqué stitch, how to produce the necessary templates, marking, tools to use, how to handle curves, points, valleys, circles and off block construction.
We will progress each month to a new block, and with each block a new skill will be mastered or a secret trick learned, to help you produce a beautiful finished piece.
As we complete each block we will slowly increase the level of the difficulty until the last piece when you will decide which design you want for your center block – a basket of flowers or the clipper ship or perhaps the iconic Baltimore Eagle block – your choice.
Cost and registration: Call the shop to register. The class costs $25 per session, plus there is a shop fee of $5 ($30 total per session). The class is to be paid for in 3-month increments. To secure your spot, $15 is due at registration. This amount covers the shop fee for the first three months; $75 is due to the instructor on the first day of class.
